Governor Wolf Signs Bill Increasing the Base Active Duty Pay for the Pennsylvania National Guard

first_img Bill Signing,  Press Release Harrisburg, PA – Today, Governor Wolf signed HB 602, sponsored by Rep. Barrar, which Increases the minimum base active duty pay for Pennsylvania National Guard personnel from $75 to $100 per day. This raise applies, when the governor activates any part of the Pennsylvania National Guard for State Active Duty to respond to disasters and emergencies, in federally and non-federally declared events.This minimum base pay figure was last increased in 1996, from $45 to $75 per day.  The increase to a base minimum pay of $100 per day will make this pay scale more equitable to the pay scale of today, and is yet another way to compensate our National Guard personnel for their selfless sacrifices to both Commonwealth and country in time of disaster or emergency.Governor Wolf also signed the following bills into law:Act 60- HB 1877 – sponsored by Rep. Barrar – Amends Title 35 (Health & Safety), in grants to fire companies & volunteer services, further providing for scope of chapter, defs., award of grants, establishments, appropriated funds, & expirations; & an editorial change.Act 61 – HB 1325 – sponsored by Rep. Mustio – Amends the Second Class Township Code, in storm water management plans and facilities, further providing for ordinances and providing for fees.Act 62 – HB 1934 – sponsored by Rep.Truitt – Act authorizing DGS to grant & convey to Aqua PA, Inc., or its assigns, an existing water tower & permanent utility easement from lands of the Commonwealth at West Chester University, situate in the Borough of West Chester.Act 64 – SB 936 – sponsored by Sen. Browne – Amends Title 23 (Domestic Relations), in support matters generally, further providing for attachment of income.Act 65 – SB 1205 – sponsored by Sen.
